In Memory of Anna
Dear Friends and Family -
Many of you know that on October 2, 2016, I lost my younger sister, Anna, to brain cancer - GBM. She was only 36 and was taken way too young. In honor of Anna and to raise money for research, I am participating inthe 19th annual Race for Research in Atlanta on September 22, 2018. It is a 5K run, 1K fun-run/walk and a fundraising event which raises money to support brain tumor research.
You can participate by running the race along with me, by donating toward my personal fundraising efforts, or by helping me spread the word about this fundraising event. If you're not a runner, don't worry, many of the registrants are not runners. Instead many of the registrants are brain tumor patients who are just happy to be alive and happy to be able to participate in this event.
Remember your participation will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it will help to fund brain tumor research. Sadly, many of us don't realize how scary a brain tumor diagnosis is until someone we know is told "you have a brain tumor" or "you have brain cancer". To see a loved one go through this terrible journey with GBM is worse than you can imagine.
Any amount you can donate is appreciated! Every dollar we raise gets us closer to one day finding a cure for brain cancer.
Oh and another thing worth mentioning - This is our fourth year having a team and to date we have raised more than $50,000 for research. Let’s keep that momentum going and reach the lifetime goal of $100,000. At that level, the team will receive special recognition with a research grant being named in Anna’s honor. How awesome would that be!?! Let's do it for Anna!
