Race For Research 2018

Gray for Clay!

It's getting close, as you know this is Chris' favorite event of the year. After an extremely rough few months he has been through, I hope you can all join us again for an amazing day!

We had a planned surgery for Spring Break, but due to a brain bleed, Chris had his 4th resection surgery on 3-15-18. Everything went as planned and he was recovering well until he developed encephalitis. He underwent surgery on 4-14-18 to place a Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt to relieve the swelling. After a 30 lb weight loss and alot of pain, he has bounced back and started a new treatment. He is currently taking Carboplatin infusions every 3 weeks along with MRI's every 6 weeks.

Please don't let the word "race" scare you! Most of us walk the 1k and stroll and chat and enjoy the ambiance! This is by NO WAY a competition of running skills, unless of course you're a runner  As a matter of fact, some of our team members just come to hang out at our tent and just be present.

There are tons of activities for the little kids too. They have a tot-trot race, face painting and crafts.

If you have been before, you know this day is special. For those who have not been able to attend, consider having a fun and memorable morning that you won't soon forget! If you are unable to attend and still want to show your support and get a really cool t-shirt, you can register as a virtual runner.

This will be our 7th year honoring Chris, our 16-year SURVIVOR and each year gets more and more special. Thank you all for your love and support!
