Raising Money for Anna!
Hi Supporters & Friends!
It’s time once again time to Race for Research and raise money in memory of Anna! Last year, our Team DenFeyer hit the target milestone of $100,000 raised during the first five years of the team. Hitting that milestone meant that this year one of the research grants will be named The Anna Feyerherm Memorial Research Grant. How is awesome is that?!?! So now, we are working on hitting that goal again over the next 5 years and having another grant named in Anna's memory...and we can’t do it without your support! Any way you can offer support is appreciated – every dollar that goes towards research gets us closer to better treatments and hopefully, one day, a cure!
For those that don’t know why this cause is so close to my heart, Anna was my younger sister (even after almost four years, it’s still so tough to type “was” and not “is”). She was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in January of 2015. (If you aren’t familiar with GBM, google it and you will see how horrendous of a monster it is.) She was a fighter and endured numerous brain surgeries, radiation treatments, and chemo – unfortunately, she couldn’t win this battle, and we lost her on October 2, 2016. The loss of Anna left a hole in the heart of everyone that knew her. Siblings are, as my mom would say, your longest relationships in life. To lose Anna at the age of 36 was devastating to our whole family, and if we can fund research to prevent other families from going through that loss, I can’t think of a better way to honor Anna’s memory.
There are a few ways you can help:
#1 - Registering for the Reimagined Race! Click the "join my team" button (on this page and to the right) to participate on my team.
#2 - Donate now by clicking the button to the right and help me reach my personal fundraising goal. My fundraising goal is set at $1322.80 because Anna's birthday was 3-22-80.
#3 - Spread the word about the SBTF, their mission, and this event, Race for Research by directing people to www.sbtf.org or sbtfrfr.com
This year's event was redesigned to allow you to participate from any location of your choosing. It gives you the freedom to walk, run, treadmill, skate, bike, wheelchair, dance or whatever method you choose your way to a 1k or 5k goal. Participants are asked to complete the event distance within the time frame of September 19, 2020 to September 26, 2020. You decide your method, your distance, and your route.
Your participation and support will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it will help to fund much needed brain tumor research.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my request for support and helping me keep Anna's memory alive!
