No Brain, No Pain

Hi all! As you probably already know, Paul was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2015 and has since gone through three brain surgeries, 6 weeks of radiation, 15 rounds of chemotherapy, and now an eye surgery. We are excited to help raise money for much needed research.

We are running this race for Paul. He has been so incredible throughout this brain tumor journey. He rarely complains, has such a great attitude, and takes everything in stride. It means a lot to me that we've had so much support for Paul over the last few years.

Paul's had an amazing care team:

  • 2 brain surgeries at Kennestone with our favorite local neurosurgeon Dr. Benedict
  • 1 resection surgery by the renowned Dr. Friedmann at Duke
6 weeks at Duke for radiation with Dr. Kirkpatrick, also under the oncology care of Dr. Peters
  • Chemotherapy with the wonderful team of Dr. Dunbar at Piedmont Cancer Center
  • Frequent consults with neuro-opthamologist Dr. Weiner
  • Eye surgery with Dr. Lipsky to help Paul's double vision
  • Another week of radiation at Duke

  • Now Paul is undergoing monthly chemotherapy to slow the growth of BKP

  • Awesome friends and family who have supported us financially, emotionally, and spiritually

Please consider donating what you'd spend on your morning coffee or a lunch out. Every little bit helps.

You can participate by running (or walking) along with us, by helping me spread the word about this fundraising event, or by making a donation toward our fundraising effort. If you're not a runner, don't worry, many folks will be walking! Many participants are brain tumor patients who are just happy to be alive and happy to be able to participate in this event.

Just so you know, the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation is recognized as as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and as a public charity. Donations to the SBTF in support of my fundraising efforts are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Your support will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it generate awareness about this disease and will help to fund much needed brain tumor research.

Thanks for your support!
