What should I expect at the Muddy Duck Dash?
Expect to have fun, expect to be silly, expect a family friendly environment, expect to get wet, expect to get muddy, and expect to have a great experience! This is a fun event with a less competitive approach. All obstacles can be skipped if you decide it is beyond your comfort zone without penalty.

Can I register to participate on the day of the Muddy Duck Dash?
Yes! You may sign up to participate in the 5k Dash or the Duckling Dash on the day of the event. You will be assigned to a starting wave based on availability so be sure to arrive early not to miss your wave. Waves begin at 8am and on-site registration opens at 7am and runs until all wave spots are full.
What time is the Duckling Dash event?
The Duckling Dash, our half mile course for younger participants, will begin at 11am. Please note: If you plan to participate in the 5k Dash, please choose a starting wave for you that allows you to finish prior to the Duckling Dash warm-up at 10:45am so you can assist your child.
What if my child wants to complete the entire course and not just the Duckling Dash?
We'd love that! There are no age restrictions on the full course, we only ask that parents use their best judgment when deciding between the full course and the Duckling Dash. If you register for the Duckling Dash you will NOT be permitted to participate in the 5k Dash. Any obstacles a younger participant is not comfortable completing may be skipped at no penalty.
What is included in my registration fee for the 5k Dash or Duckling Dash?
The registration fee includes one Dash registration, a Muddy Duck Dash swag item, one yellow rubber duck and a finishing medal.
The full Muddy Duck Dash course is $50 through Jul 23 at 11:59pm EST online. Packet Pickup or Dash day registration will be $60 for the full course.
You can register here!
How do I choose my starting Wave time?
You may choose your start wave during the registration process. Register early for the best selection of times. Waves begin at 8am and run every ten minutes until 10:40am. We will be monitoring wave participants so that the course is balanced and not crowded. If you want to have a group participate together, please be sure to all select the same starting wave time.
What if it rains on Muddy Duck Dash day?
The Muddy Duck Dash is a rain or shine event. In case of a dangerous weather event which threatens the safety of participants or staff, the event director(s) reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event. In the event of a cancellation, there will be no refunds or transfers. Please see our Policy Page for full details.
Can I bring a stroller or bike on the course?
No. Strollers, wheeled carts, bicycles, motorized vehicles, skates or other devices are prohibited from the course area for the safety of participants. However, if you are not participating but attending the event, you may bring a stroller to the event. All strollers must be kept off the Dash course area at all times.
Can I bring my pet to the Dash?
No. We do not permit pets unless they are service animals at the Muddy Duck Dash. Out of courtesy for other participants, please understand not everyone is comfortable around animals.
What do I wear to the event?
That is up to you! You can dress up in a costume, super hero outfit, a fun tutu, your favorite Halloween leftover, a goofy duck outfit, formal attire, something silly, comfortable running clothes, a shirt supporting a brain tumor warrior, or a SBTF shirt. As long as you can safely run the race, we encourage you to be creative and have fun! No track spikes and no heels please! You will be wet and dirty, so leave those things you would be upset if they are stained at home! And a towel and dry change of clothing is suggested for a more comfortable ride home!
Is there somewhere to leave my keys, phone, wallet, etc while I complete the Dash?
There is not a specific and patrolled location for personal items. If you elect to have a team tent we recommend leaving your personal items within your tent. We advise leaving all valuables in your vehicle and only having your keys on-site. We are not responsible for your personal property left unattended including items stored in vehicles.
Can I clean off after the event?
We recommend bringing a towel and change of clothing. We provide hoses in a parking lot for washing off the mud and port-a-johns will be available. We do not have anywhere available for private changing. Bring a bag for your dirty and wet clothing/shoes for transport home.
What does the Rubber Duck symbolize?
All Dash participants will be provided a rubber duck as part of the race packet. The duck must be with them at all times during the Dash. We joke your rubber duck is actually racing- you are just getting it to the finish line! Your duck can only complete the course on your person. Take care of your duck, love it, encourage it, and help it get to the finish line! Make your duck proud!
